Intersecting worlds

Moke Kupihea, in his book Kahuna of Light, writes that “…The Hawaiians in the days of old believed that there were certain areas on each island where [there] were openings from the dimension of the living world to the dimension of the spirit world. It was believed that only in these areas could the spirits, na ‘aumakua, enter into this world and return to their own or could we enter their world and come back to our own.” (p. 174)
